The Youth Life Learning Center of Richmond is committed to nurturing the child, healing the family, and rebuilding the community. We believe that early support for children helps to ensure their successful future. Our comprehensive after-school and full summer program services aim to help children develop into leaders who positively influence their families and communities.

We make a long-term investment in each child's academic and character development. Children enroll in the program between the ages of five and ten. These students are then eligible to remain in the program until they graduate from high school.

Richmond 's first Youth Life Learning Center is located in the community of Glen Lea. It is an at-risk community and an at-risk school, yet it is in Henrico County with very few low cost or no cost program alternatives for parents. We will provide that alternative in an environment that is in need of help.

The Life Center is affiliated with the Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation based in Washington , DC .
