Mexico Missions Trip 2012

We are excited to announce our second short-term mission trip to Mexico City. The team will leave on Saturday July the 7th and fly back home Saturday July the 14th.  Similar to last year we will be partnering with local church CSR (Casa Sobre la Roca).

Objective: continue the ministry that we did last year focusing on street-kids in slum areas, the handicapped-girls at shelter of Sister Rocio and sex-trade ex victims. We’ll also be doing street ministry and also leading worship and guest speaking at small groups. Last year we were used by the Spirit to show the love of Christ to others and that’s what we want to do again, become love for those who are unloved.

Requirements: copy of valid passport no later than June 1st, ability to cover expenses, under-aged boys or girls will only be accepted if accompanied by parent or legal guardian.

The estimated budget is as follows. This may vary depending mostly on air fare at the moment of booking.

- Plane ticket -$740

- Food -$110

- Travel insurance-$45

- Offering & Miscellaneous (parking, transportation, tips, groceries, gifts)-$170

Total: $1,065

This budget is the minimum funding necessary by each member. Plane ticket, insurance and offering & miscellaneous should be paid in full to the treasurer of the mission according to a schedule that will be communicated shortly after the group is confirmed. An initial deposit of $100 is due February 29th. This deposit will be applied toward the individual total expense and it is not reimbursable unless the number of people has exceeded the maximum capacity of the mission.

Mexico City Mission II will be limited to 18 people. In case we have requests by more than 18 people, we will follow a selective criteria that will include coverage of initial deposit, membership, whether they were part of Mexico City Mission I or not and the advise of elders and church leadership.

We will hold a meeting for questions and answers for those who are interested in taking part of this mission trip on January the 29th after church services downstairs in the meeting area.
